walk and keep yourself in shape

Top benefits of walking:

1.   It strengthens your heart;

Regular walking has been shown to reduce your risk of heart disease and stroke. It lowers levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol while increasing levels of HDL (good) cholesterol and keeps blood pressure in check.

2. It lowers disease risk;

regular exercise such as walking could reduce risk by up to 60 per cent. Those of us who are active have around a 20 per cent lower risk of developing cancer of the colon, breast and womb than those least active. It’s good for your brain.
3.It reduces stress;
What do I do when I need to get away from a particularly stressful day in “civilization”? Go for a walk, preferably in a natural setting. For me, it’s the beach or the Malibu hills. For others, it might be the woods or even a park. Sure enough, going for a walk in the woods is a surefire way to lower cortisol.
4.Walking improves fitness; Walking just three times a week for 30 minutes can significantly increase cardiorespiratory fitness.

5.It helps you beat breast cancer; women who walk regularly after being diagnosed with breast cancer have a 45 percent greater chance of survival than those who are inactive.
